Before I went to Korea, I did a lot of research for Korean Beauty and Skin care products. That was the start of my addiction to YouTube and other K-beauty websites. I've been so addicted that I allocated 40% of my shopping money for it (It used to be 100% Clothing and Fashion Budget).. I'm not even vain and I didn't have any skincare products until I went to Seoul last September.
We stayed in Myeongdong and we were surrounded by k-beauty stores. Imagine, in front of our hotel is Etude house, beside us is the biggest Nature Republic and Club Clio.like OMG!!!!
I am writing this blog by brand instead of by category.
First, let me start with NATURE REPUBLIC. People have been raving about this Aloe vera soothing gel but unfortunately, my skin did react while using this product so I just gave it to my brother. The Soothing Mist on the other hand works well but I just put it on my hair instead on my face.
The ARGAN line is a must have. Until now, I still want to buy the whole line because it has a pleasant smell and it both worked very well with my hair. As you age, you definitely want to take care of everything in your body.
Next is HOLIKA HOLIKA. I bought these in one of their branches in Hongdae. Their Aqua Petite Jelly BB Cream is a must have. I got it in the shade #02. The wonder drawing brow liner is a bit light for my eyebrows while their eye liner is a bit hard to use. As I said, Im not a pro in make-up and was just starting with K-beauty and I think this eye liner is a little bit EXTRA for me. The gradient lip tint is nice too!
Next is SKIN FOOD. This brand is kind of pricy and Im not even sure if these are all effective. I use the black sugar mask to exfoliate and it works just fine. While the concealer and lip gloss are just so, so.. I didn't like it that much!
ETUDE HOUSE is the korean store where I spent the biggest. I've been an Etude girl since I started working in 2011. I've been a fan of their BB cream products. My most favorite purchase here is the Face Blur. It gives a photoshop effect on my face whenever I use it.. I also like the fragrances and the orange water lip tint. I didn't use the eye brow tattoo gel and browcara that much but these are good products too. also bought a cushion foundation which I forgot to take a picture of.
We go now to the one brand product favorites.
I bought the Clean it Zero cleansing balm at BANILA CO. I think its around 16,000- 18,000 KRW. Not cheap but effective. Since I don't use a lot of make up, I used it very often,
For Tony Moly, my officemate asked me to buy her a Ferment Snail Lip Treatment. I forgot how much this was.. As for the other thing, I don't know how to use it (yep, Im a hoarder of things I dont really need)
The ever famous ArtClass by Rodin Contour Powder is a good buy from TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL! Everyone has been raving for this but I think, contour sticks are easier to use.
I think of all the lip tints, CLUB CLIO has perfected creating the perfect tints! My favorites are the Peripera products which I got in 2 colors.. They opened a store in Manila recently and I cant wait to shop for more.. Very long lasting and has cute shades..
Last but definitely not the least is INNISFREE! This by far is my most favorite korean brand so far. All of their skincare products worked well on my skin. I've tried their green tea seed line and it's AMAZING!!!! Don't forget to buy some of these at a duty free inside the airport. There are cheaper bargains there. For instance, I bought the No Sebum Minerl Powder in a bigger container for cheaper price and is on a buy one take one deal. Very cheap and it's tax free!
Since my last korea trip, I cant help but browse for online K beauty shops. Korea is very addictive. The culture, the people and just about everything. I will definitely go back Korea!
