I know it has been almost a year since
our last flight to Tokyo but Im posting this anyway because 1.) Mom kept asking
me for it during the entire Christmas Vacation, 2.) I’ve been wanting to blog
about it but I was too busy with my STRAMA and my IAR defence. Thank God my MBA
program is done already and so I’m
writing this on for future reference.
I usually book our flights every
December 31st because Cebu Pacific usually conducts their PISO fare
during this time and I was able to book ours for a total of P13,300 for 2 pax
already to Narita, Tokyo(June 18-21,2015). Im travelling with my lovely mom by
the way. J
Our flight is about 7:00 AM and
we arrived at Narita Airport at around 12:00 nn. We took the train going to
Narita for exactly 1 hour and 15 minutes. Sobrang cool lang nung train coz
halos kame lang yung laman and sobrang bilis. Feeling ko talaga ganun tumakbo
si The Flash (hahaha).. You can track the stations via the monitors in the
train so you wont get lost unless sobrang sarap ng tulog mo at lumagpas ka ng
station.. hahaha
At first, sobrang nakakaubos ng
pasensya hanapin kung san kame lalabas. Feeling q talaga its the most
unfriendly train station in my travel history kc nga confusing ung train
lines.. hangang last day namin, naliligaw pa din kame.. swear! Also, contrary
to Japan being known as super techy country, their train lines mostly don’t
have big elevators for passengers na may dalang luggages. Mega carry kame ng
maleta up and down stairs! By this time, problemado na q pano kame uuwi dala
ang mga shopping bags namen!haha..
First things first! When we arrived
in Shinjuku, we bought our Pasmo Cards and loaded them for 1000 yen(P370). I
think thats enough for the first few days of our pasyal. Then, we looked for
our hotel na.
I booked our hotel in Sakura
Hotel Hatagaya in Shinjuku. It got good reviews in Trip Advisor that’s why even
though its already fully booked in Agoda and Bookings.com, I found a way to get
our slot via Hotels.com. Yep, im kinda OC when looking for travel reviews eh.. OH!
The hotel is just a hostel though..Mejo masikip pero its a decent place to stay for sleeping. It also comes with
free breakfast. I got this deal for P11,000 good for 3 nights na. Im posting
the link on how to get to this hotel.
We left our bags in the hotel,
rested for awhile then gora na kc sobrang gutom na kame. And so we ate at
Hidakaya Ramen house in Hatagaya, just a few meters away from our hotel.
Krish’s Order - Five Piece Mixed Bowl – 580 Yen (P215.00) plus extra Gyoza (cant remember the price pero inorder ko padin dahil sobrang laki ng gutom ko)
Mom’s Order – Fried Mixed
Vegetable Rice Set – 570 Yen (P211.00) – Masarap naman pero madaming bean
sprout.Di q type! Haha
Mom and I enjoying our first
lunch in Tokyo at 4PM. Hahaha
And before I forget, here’s my

after. Lels.

June is rainy season in Japan so
I can really say na mejo breezy ang weather. Good thing I brought my scarf with
me coz I was chilling in my shirt and shorts that afternoon. Our first stop is
Takeshita Street and then Shinjuku. My gosh its a shopping haven for lovers of
cute products. Clothes, socks, shoes, name it, they have it! Though its kinda
pricey as compared to Bangkok and HK products but the material are super high
quality naman. Price ranges from P500-P3000 for a local Japanese
brand.kalurkey! So kung divisoria levels ang budget, girl, mag-bangkok ka na
lang! Hahaha.. Also, their free size is kinda small although they have
different sizes naman for some designs/brands. For me, mejo hirap ako mamili
dahil sa balingkinitan kong katawan(choz). I tried fitting some clothes in the
famous Liz Liza brand but sadly, none of them fit me well. Bakit kasi hindi kau
voluptuous?!! Charot!
Here are some photos of stores in
Takeshita street.
Ofcourse naman ginutom ako while
walking and window shopping so I never missed to get my Strawberry crepe na
super yummy. Promise iba xa sa crepe that we can purchase sa malls. Mas
masarap.. And mas maarte ako habang kinakain ko ung crepe nay un sa Takeshita.
As the saying goes, “Umarte ng naaayon sa lugar”. hahaha
Here are my loots for today. I
got a dress, 2 sandals and 1 starbucks mug for my kuya. I will post a separate
blog on my Japan shopping haul for easy reference. J
Indeed, it has been a long first
day for us but super worth the travel. Looking forward to a more adventurous
Day 2.
Xoxo,
Krish
