Malaysia Trip 2014

Day 1: Thursday-September 25, 2014

I booked our flight December last year and I was so excited coz it’s gonna be our second Family Trip abroad after our HK trip back in 2011. Sadly, my Dico wasn’t able to come with us but my dad was able to join us last minute before he leaves for US next month.

We landed in KLIA 2 Airport at around 6:30 PM. Since most taxis can only accommodate 4 pax and our group consists of 5 people, we chose to rent a van at 200 ringgit (40 RM each). Not bad because it took us 1 ½ hours travelling to our hotel and since we booked for a budget hotel, it took us 2 more hours finding the hotel in the city..hahaha.. so finally at around 9:30PM, we finally checked in in our hotel.. It’s V’la Hotel located in Bukit Bintang. Actually the location isn’t bad. It’s located just near Bukit Bintang Royale Hotel and is just walking distance to commercial establishments and markets.
We just left our baggage in the hotel and went out immediately to eat our dinner. We were so tired but looked for the perfect place to eat on our first day.

This costs us around 140 RM in total. Egg Soup, various seafood balls, yang chow rice, spareribs, and vegetables.

Day 2: Friday-September 25, 2014

We woke up at 6AM and immediately ate breakfast in the hotel. I needed as much coffee in take as I was really sleepy and I wasn’t used to sleeping at night (talk about working in BPO..hehe). After breakfast, we looked for a money changer. Near the area are taxis/vans that offer package tours. We met Raja, our official driver who drove us to different tourist destinations during our entire stay in Malaysia. On our first day, we paid him 200 RM(RM each) which included the following destinations: Petronas Towers, Chocolate Kingdom, Beer Pewter factory, king’s Palace (i think there’s a better term for this place), Special Stone factory(there’s a term but again, I cant remember.. consists of accessories), The Batu Caves, Batik Factory, Strawberry Farm,  and Genting Highlands.

Here are some of our pics for Day 2:

Well for the whole trip, I must say our trip to Genting Highlands is one of my favorites. We only paid 12 RM each for two way travel via cable car. The trip was around 20 minutes and the place was so cool. The weather is just like that of Baguio back home (Philippines). Resorts World, Ripley’s believe it or not are also located here. There are shopping outlets and there are just so many to be seen here. I just love it. J

Ripley's Believe it or not - 22 RM each entrance fee

Before going home, we asked Raja to drop us back to Petrona’s Towers so we can take pictures of a day and night view of the famous spot. Window shopped for designer brands and fortunately, Lot 10 Mall which is located just beside petronas has the 3-Floor building for H&M. And yes, my eyes popped once again and of course I went for a little shopping spree. Hihihi..
We took a cab back in bukit Bintang and ate our dinner.

Day 3: Saturday-September 25, 2014

My ate Alona booked our Legoland Trip online for P4,300 each which includes the Bus transfer, Legoland and Hello Kitty Land Passes via causeway bus. We woke up early for this trip. The bus arrived as early as 6 AM at Royale Bukit Bintang Hotel to pick up the passengers. It took us almost 4 hours travelling to Johor Bahru. I enjoyed the long trip coz I really explored and saw the beauty and cleanliness of Malaysia. And to add, that 4 hour trip is a traffic-free trip. Amazing!

We arrived at Johor Bahru at around 11 AM. Since the heat is freakin’ crazy, we chose to go to Hello Kitty Land first. This is an indoor activity wherein there are rides, shows and a chance to visit Hello Kitty’s home. It’s a fun place for Kids and kid’s at heart especially girls.. And yes, hello kitty is not a cat but a British school girl. Hahaha..

While waiting for the bus to pick us up, we got hungry so we ate at Kenny Rogers nearby. And to our hunger, we missed the bus again and decided to take a cab for 20RM to legoland.

The LEGOLAND Experience
We were so excited because this is one of the newest destinations in Malaysia. We arrived at around 2PM and so the weather is just right for walking and exploring the place. There’s not much of a “wild” ride in this place if you’re a thrill seeker like me but its a place to chill and bond with kids and the whole family.

When I was young, I have a collection of Lego and I really enjoyed seeing creations in this place  made of pure LEGO... waahhh!!

My most fav pic ever..around 35-50 RM

The bus picked us up at around 6-6:30 AM. And since we are all tired, I was asleep the entire trip and woke up when we were back in Bukit Bintang.. hahaha..

To compensate for the long trip, we really ate big time for our dinner.

Day 4: Sunday-September 25, 2014
Dad got lost in Legoland and I think he got tired walking since day 1 so he chose to just stay in the hotel on our last day. The rest of the gang went to Malacca which took us around 2-3 hours drive with our driver, Raja. He charged us 500RM for this trip.

Malacca is such a historical place not just for Malaysia but also in the world. It is the center of trade for spices back in 1521.

Anyway, upon arrival near the church, there are tri-bikes with tourist guides available who charge 80RM that will bring you to all tourist destinations in Malacca.

For our lunch, we really want to try something new so we asked Raja(who happened to be Malay-Indian) for a good spot. And there, we ate at a nearby place and tried Indian food. At first, we were doubtful because although im used to eating spicy food, Im afraid my eating capacity wont be enough for the challenge of eating extra-ordinary delicacy. We ordered almost everything in the menu and voila... the food was incredibly delicious!!! Gahhhhh!!!! And surprisingly, the cost of our entire order just cost us 55 RM. We saved almost a 100 bucks. Well this is in comparison to our previous meals since day 1. Hihi..

We were back at Bukit Bintang at around 4:30PM. My brother went back to the hotel and took a rest with my dad before our flight the same night. My mom, ate lhon and I went to the nearby malls to do some last minute shopping.. Girls will be girls.. hahaha.. Near the area was a factory outlet of Giordano that sells 10-25RM of polo shirts and tshirts. Its a good deal already so we bought our pasalubongs here. There are also sellers of coffee, candies and other special delicacies to be brought home near the area.

At 9:30PM, raja picked us up from the hotel and brought us to  the airport. Charge is 150RM(30 RM each). We ate our dinner at Johnny Rockets and I wasn’t sure of the bill but we grabbed coffee after at Starbucks while waiting for our check-in.

Here's my shopping bags excluding pasalubongs.. I only got 7 items for myself from Giordano, Wacoal and H&M.. mejo nakakapanibago.. Tamang tourist lang ang peg ko.. limited budget only.hahaha

Over-all, the entire Malaysia trip was really fun and exciting. Although we were travelling most of our time, it is a great way to explore other places and cultures. As a bonus, we get to know their history and taste their unique and delicious delicacies. I could say that for travellers who want to shop, I don’t think this is a good place for you especially if you're on a tight budget. The transpo and meal expenses are quite expensive.. I really think its more expensive here as compared to HK and SG. But if you are a traveller/explorer kind of tourist, then this must be the perfect place for you.. There’s still a lot of places to go here but we have so little time. Definitely, I will go back to this place.

I hope my blog will be helpful for your next trip.

Xoxo,

Krish J

KOREAN BEAUTY AND SKIN CARE HAUL 2016

Before I went to Korea, I did a lot of research for Korean Beauty and Skin care products. That was the start of my addiction to YouTube and other K-beauty websites. I've been so addicted that I allocated 40% of my shopping money for it (It used to be 100% Clothing and Fashion Budget).. I'm not even vain and I didn't have any skincare products until I went to Seoul last September.  We stayed in Myeongdong and we were surrounded by k-beauty stores. Imagine, in front of our hotel is Etude house, beside us is the biggest Nature Republic and Club Clio.like OMG!!!! I am writing this blog by brand instead of by category.  First, let me start with NATURE REPUBLIC. People have been raving about this Aloe vera soothing gel but unfortunately, my skin did react while using this product so I just gave it to my brother. The Soothing Mist on the other hand works well but I just put it on my hair instead on my face.  The ARGAN line is a must have. Until now, I stil...

Bloggers United 3

It was my first time to attend the Bloggers United Event. For quite some time, I am getting so addicted with blogging. At first I was just a fan who follow other people's blogs but eventually, I decided to make my own write ups.The first people that I followed were Camille Co, Kryz Uy and Laureen Uy. Then, after some time, I have known some more fashion bloggers who are real fashionistas in their own right. Actually, we all are! It's just how you carry yourself even if you go "Ga-ga" sometimes.  I was so happy with the event yesterday at Grand View Events Place. There were a number of sponsors and all my favorite bloggers were there. I am so excited to show you guys my photos with them. I wish I could be like them in the future(ehem!)I'm so sorry for the arrangement of the pictures. I'm having a hard time getting the pictures move into it's right places... ugh!  with Liz Lanuzo with Gela Bestie   with David Guison with Bjorn...

How I Did my Dream Euro Trip for less than P200,000 (All-in)

How I Did my Dream Euro Trip for less than P200,000 (All-in) Planning your first Europe trip needs a lot of work. Mine, I planned for a year before finally fulfilling it.  First, you have to know what kind of traveler you are and which places do you prefer going to. Do you enjoy going to museums? Do you like drinking and partying? Do you prefer walking or riding different public transportations? You might think, do I really need to think about these things? For me, ABSOLUTELY YES!!! The reason is that Europe is expensive (if you compare their currency with Philippine Peso) and if you are on a tight budget like me, you have to make sure that you will get your money’s worth. Of course, it’s also another set of adventure if you don’t want to plan too much and just go wherever your feet takes you. But for me that’s not really an option. I only had 2 weeks to travel and as a female solo traveler, I had to make sure that my safety is my utmost priority. Also, since I ha...
